The recently updated Covid-19 report for Lithuania gives an overview of the major developments regarding the impact of the pandemic crisis on the cultural sector from March 2020 to June 2022.
This update contains a detailed timeline of the policy and financial measures taken against the impact of COVID-19 on the cultural sector. This retrospective allows a complete overview of the development of the cultural sector – also in relation to the various decisions and measures taken by the government.
Since February 2022, Covid-19 regulations and restrictions were continuously reduced or stopped (such as the management of the flow of people at events or to mandatory wear protective equipment), which severally restricted the cultural and tourism sector.
Since May 1, 2022, the Government revoked the state of national emergency. Main argument being that 81.36% of the Lithuanian population had been vaccinated against COVID-19 or had acquired immunity after contracting the disease.
