The Compendium wishes everyone a happy new year and a good start to 2024! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members and experts for their continued commitment to the Compendium community. Thanks to them, we have been able to publish high quality reports and cultural policy related information resources from many countries. As the New Year begins, we would like to share with you a summary of our goals and ambitions for 2024.
In 2023, we have been conducting our research campaign on Freedom of Artistic Expression. We have published four reports by our expert Andreas Wiesand, held a conference in Malta where artistic freedom played a major role, and conducted a survey on artistic freedom in Europe. It is now time to publish an overview of these findings in the first half of 2024, to officially close the research campaign and move on to another topic.
During our General Assembly in Malta, we discussed the theme of our next research campaign. In our ever-evolving modern world, progress is defined by new technologies. Disruptive innovations have become the driving force of change, reshaping the way we live and work. The cultural sector is no exception: New technologies are influencing the way we create, consume, preserve and interact with different forms of cultural expression. It has therefore been decided to focus this year’s research campaign on new technologies in the cultural sector. Stay tuned for more information in the near future!
We are pleased to announce that the Mediterranean University Podgorica in our member country Montenegro will host this year’s International Cultural Policy Conference in the second half of the year! More details on the date and theme of the conference will be announced soon.
As always, the Compendium will continue to update the cultural policy profiles and publish cultural policy news from Europe and beyond! We are also keen to expand our activities and are always looking for new partners to collaborate with.
