Session 1 (EXPLORE & SHARE)
“What Does Development Mean? Exploring Definitions and Perspectives”
The first session of our International Cultural Policy Conference taking place on 26 September in Podgorica, Montenegro, will take a deeper dive into the meaning of development. We will listen to different approaches – philosophical, artistic, political – also taking into account historical and temporal aspects. We have therefore invited speakers from different fields: research and cultural practice, past and present activists, and from different regions. To diversify the discussion, a fishbowl format will allow participants to share their views and perspectives in this context.
We are proud to now present the following speakers for Session 1:
Solange Michel (Switzerland – Head International Affairs, Swiss Federal Office for Culture)
Natalija Vujosevic (Montenegro – Visual artist and curator)
Prince Nicolas Petrovitch Njegosh (Montenegro – Head of the Petrovitch Njegosh Fondation & last descendant of the Montenegrin dynasty Petrovic-Njegosh)
Đorđe Matić (Croatia – Writer and poet)
Andreas Wiesand (Germany – Founder ERICarts Network)
Justin O’Connor (Australia – Professor of Cultural Economy at the University of South Australia)
The session will be moderated by:
Eva Van Passel (Belgium – Research Coordinator, Flemish Department of Culture, Youth and Media)
We thank all the above speakers for their commitment and look forward to hearing everyone’s input! The speakers for session two and three will be announced soon! If we have sparked your interest and you want to attend the conference, please sign up via this form.
