Important recent developments include the establishment of an independent Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Federal States (Kultur-MK) and post-colonial debates on how to deal with cultural assets from former colonies. In German cultural policy, climate change is also high on the agenda and, for example, the Council of Sustainable Development received 7.5 million euros from the Federal Chancellery to create a Sustainability Culture Fund.
