New German profile online

Our expert author Ulrike Blumenreich updated the cultural policy profile of Germany. Important recent developments include the establishment of an independent Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Federal States (Kultur-MK) and post-colonial debates on how to deal with cultural assets from former colonies. In German cultural policy, climate change is also high on the agenda and, for example, the Council of Sustainable Development received 7.5 million euros from the Federal Chancellery to create a Sustainability Culture Fund.  Please find the updated profile in our database. Dutch framework international cultural policy 2021-2024

In the Netherlands, international cultural policy is a joint responsibility of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, and Education, Culture and Science. At the end of last year, the three Ministers presented their framework for international cultural policy for the period 2021-2024. In October 2019, Flanders Arts Institute published its Landscape Sketch of the Arts, an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the Flemish arts sector. The Landscape Sketch highlights current developments and trends in order to support both policy makers and arts professionals in generating future strategies for different disciplines.
